NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- On television, at conferences, and on the streets, I'm being asked whether now is a good time to start a business. Short answer: Yes!
Some 75% of Americans said they'd love to turn a passion into a profit -- if they could just figure out how to do it, according to a survey conducted by Harris Interactive for my book, "The Millionaire Zone."

Despite all the bad news about a stormy economy, some of those strong winds are actually at your back if you're ready to get that idea off the ground.
One entrepreneurial couple I met recently decided to pack their bags to move their family from Dallas, Texas, to Portland, Ore., where they discovered taxes are lower, the activities more wide-ranging, and the people walk to a different beat. "If we don't do it now, we'll be kicking ourselves," she told me. And now, they're opening up three Sonic Burger franchises in the area.
